NO MORE EXCUSES!

TO BEGIN, PLEASE READ THIS VERSE CAREFULLY!!!

Romans 1:20 (MSG) The basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is! By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can’t see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of His divine being. So nobody has a good excuse.

In essence this verse is saying, if you ever had any doubt about whether or not GOD IS REAL, No Worries! GOD’S GOT YOUR BACK! He reveals His existence to us through what He has created. God is so awesome! He knew that many of us would already have doubts, questions and skepticism in our mind if we could not see Him with our natural eyes - so He wove His Nature into the very fabric of our world. WHO DOES THAT?!? Now, that’s radical! There is not a single place in the world we can go to get away from God’s presence!

In Psalms 139:7-9 (MSG), David says it like this:

Is there any place I can go to avoid your Spirit? to be out of your sight? If I climb to the sky, you’re there! If I go underground, you’re there! If I flew on morning’s wings to the far western horizon. You’d find me in a minute - you’re already there waiting!

So going back to Romans 1:20 - NOBODY HAS A GOOD EXCUSE FOR NOT KNOWING GOD!!!

And I don’t mean knowing of God - I mean REALLY KNOWING HIM! or How about Knowing God in an even more intimate way?

Case in Point: There are millions of people who claim to KNOW OF Stephen Curry but only his inner circle can confidently say they REALLY KNOW HIM!

So I ask you…DO YOU REALLY KNOW GOD? (Really think about that)

No matter what your answer may be, we should always endeavor to know Him more because there’s always so much more to know! Excuses try to block us from really Knowing God in the fullness of who He is - but we’re going to get to the bottom of that.

Notice Romans 1:20 doesn’t say nobody has “an excuse” for not knowing God. It says nobody has a “GOOD” excuse! Meaning, there are a ton of excuses we can give. It’s just none of them are “good” or “justifiable” reasons as to why we don’t know God.

HERE ARE JUST A FEW:

  • I don’t have time.

  • I’m not a religious person.

  • I’m afraid of knowing God.

  • I can’t prove that God exists.

  • I’m a good person.

  • I’m angry with God.

Transparent Moment: I have dealt with at least half of these excuses and even at one point made them in my own personal life.

I’ve once said to myself, “I don’t have time to spend with God. My relationship with Him is already good enough.”

I’ve said before, “I want to know God more - but I’m afraid. I’m afraid of the unknown. I’m afraid of what my purpose holds. What if I’m not ready?”

I’ve once thought, “I’m a good person. Why do I have to be accountable to God?”

I’ve even said to myself, “I can’t see God with my natural eyes. I can’t prove His existence in the natural. Is He really REAL?”

Have you ever asked yourself any of these questions?

(Later on, we will hone in on some of these but the purpose of this blog is to help you identify where you stand.)

In the past, I made so many excuses. I would rehearse them daily like a song. It was so EMBEDDED in me!

BUT LET ME TELL YOU THIS >>>

You will always have what seems to be a “good excuse” for not knowing God more - if you’re not using your faith. But if you have faith - even if it’s just a little, those excuses must bow and align themselves with the Reality of God!

My Encounter with God proved that to me. I used to be a very broken individual. So broken - that I sought the attention of people to make me whole. I was tired of fickle relationships.

Case in Point - You think someone has your back and then in one moment, that all changes. You think somebody loves you and then the next day, they hate you.

I felt like God was my only other option. So as I sat in my room - desperate for a LOVE that was faithful and true. God Encountered me in such a way that I had no doubt in my mind whether or not God was Real. I had NO MORE EXCUSES to offer because His Presence banished every excuse that I ever had. I had a Spiritual Encounter with God but I also felt His Presence in such a real way - as if someone was sitting there right next to me. THAT WAS ENOUGH FOR ME!

It’s ironic how you can have 1,000 REASONS why you don’t believe or want to get to know God more - but all it takes is ONE REASON to change all of that! What will it take for you to have No More Excuses?

That’s all for now - This topic really interests me so I will be releasing more on it soon!
